Junior Entrepreneur Awards

Ranganna 5 agus 6 set up a fantastic business , selling personalised greeting frames: ‘Name in a Frame’. This winning project required artistic flair and design, using handmade miniature decorations and thousands of scrabble pieces. The frames¬† were sold from Christmas to Easter. Well done to all the children and their enthusiastic teachers: Ms Gillian and Mr Paul. Sean Kelly MEP presented the classes with their medals and helped hoist our flag.

Rang 6¬† were busy beavers throughout the winter months designing and assembling. Mr Paul’s Sixth Class were like night-elves! Their project involved hard and persistent graft as they painstakingly made cuboid puzzles. Again, the whole school community got behind them and they donated some of their profits to ‘ Make a Wish Foundation’. They were really popular and required a high degree of manufacturing skill. Well done, one and all.

Ms Caroline and Ms Gillian were so proud of Sixth Class (2016/17)as they proved yet again that they were a talented and almost invincible bunch! The winning project “Wood You Buy It?” sold so well . They were barely able to keep up with the orders. Well done to all.

Previously in 2015/16, 6th class undertook the Junior Entrepreneur program(JEP), for the first time.
Pupils engaged with real-life math skills as they undertook Data collection, Problem Solving and understanding of Profit and Loss.
Collaborative skills and Teamwork are an integral part of this programme.
