Bag Packing in Dunnes (Circular Rd). Sat. 11th March

Our annual Bag Packing Day is coming soon. This year parents of children in Junior and Senior Infants will be packing bags. We are most appreciative of your valuable time. Don’t worry though, you will get a choice of slot times. When you receive your Bag Packing Newsletter, just tick your favoured time-slot and return it to Ms Adrienne or Ms Claire. You will then be contacted by your co-ordinator. This is a wonderful fund-raising opportunity and we are very grateful to Dunnes for giving a day to Caherleaheen N.S.

Spring Cleaning in January.

Many thanks to Paudie,Samantha,Kaila and Jayden Sugrue for the time they gave this Saturday morning. They were joined by the usual hard working suspects/parents: Marie and John-Paul Morris,Tara Cullinan,Sarah Fitzgibbon,Cliona Caplis, Caitriona and Rachel Sargent. Paudie worked us hard for 2hours! Well worth it. We swept, pruned, pulled, scraped, cleared, cut back and dug. Very satisfying! Paudie isn’t finished, though. He wants to plant 25+shrubs soon. His generosity is appreciated by all.👍

Science

Which fruits will sink? The big heavy ones, the small ones or has it anything to do with weight?

Surely, the pineapple will sink!

Take a closer look: the melon and other fruits floated because the air packed in the centre around the seeds(melon) acts as a buoy.

Grandparents Day. Fri., Feb. 3rd 2017. 12.30pm

Spring is around the corner! Don’t forget to remind our grandparents to join us in school for a special ceremony, a warm cup of tea and a chat. We would also like to invite past pupils and past friends of Caherleaheen N.S. as we regretfully say goodbye to Donal and Maree O’Connor, our retiring principal and deputy-principal.
