Our Book Launch!

We are so proud! It was wonderful that all our parents found the time this morning to celebrate our published books and to have a cup of tea, served by Ms Anne Moore and Ms Noreen. They even got to taste some of our teacher’s banana cake……a recipe which is a secret! This was the first day that we actually got to hold our printed books. It was soooo exciting as we counted 3, 2, 1 before we opened our envelopes. Ms Mary was amazed by both the quality of our stories and the quality of illustrations and layout in our books. Thank you Ms Ann. Thank you Mums, Dads and Nans……We will read them again tonight and tomorrow night and for many nights to come.

Ms Ann presents each of us with our books.

Thank you!

Nearly time to open them!

3,2,1……

Wow!

Satisfaction!

‘Keep going…..we are listening’.

So chuffed, we bought 2 copies!

Even my little sister came. She LOVES books.

Our parents are really impressed.

My Nan came too. She is a great listener.

Three of us were lucky because our names were pulled out of a hat and therefore we got to read our books to the whole audience. Ms Annn showed each page on our interactive whiteboard.

‘Should I take a bow?’

Everyone read the last page of each book out loud. That felt really good. And the audience gave a cheer!

This story was about two characters Poppy and Snow. Snow wondered should they eat her pet ‘Fishy’? You will have to buy the book to find out!

Wonderful illustrations.

Imaginative settings.

Reading a book together makes the whole experience even better.

Great characters.

Finally, we were all given a gift of a little book from Polymath!

And ultimately, the best surprise for one special author, was the arrival of her mum, who rushed all the way from Cork to hear her favourite daughter read her new book!

And Ms Geraldine, on her birthday, enjoyed this private reading too!. Happy Bday Geraldine. WELL DONE, EVERYONE!📓[/caption]

Third Class Book Launch!

All our parents attended the official launch of our books, which Ms Ann published for us through Story Bird. Each one of us got to see the final product for the first time today! We worked for many weeks creating, writing, typing and editing our stories. Our parents were thrilled with our beautifully illustrated glossy books. We read our stories to our parents. Let’s Paint……

What a beautiful day to paint a fence. Fifth class came well-prepared. They wore old clothes and some brought brushes. Ms Mary bought the paint and brushes. Mr Liam and Ms Gemma helped too. This was a really enjoyable activity, while some of Fifth Class were away at a soccer blitz.

Luckily it wasn’t too windy.

Pink ‘Painthers’

Lets sit back and admire our work!

We had to paint around the sides…..gloss paint can be messy.

It’s good to chat too…
