Confirmation Day. Thursday 22nd March. 2018

Congratulations to Sixth Class! We are very proud of how they prepared for this special sacrament. Bishop Ray Browne confirmed the children and we hope they are filled with the Holy Spirit and a renewed sense of their role in the Christian Family! Thanks to photographer Denis Walsh for forwarding this lovely photo.

Ceol, craic, céilí, spórt agus spraoi.

Bhí Céilí Mór againn inniu agus bhain gach páiste agus múinteoir an-taitneamh as an lá. Míle buíochas dona rinceoirí, na hamhránaithe, na ceoltóirí, ár seanachaí scoile agus Ms Gemma.

Bhí na rinceoirí go hiontach ar fad: Gach duine ag déananmh ‘their own thing’

Bhuaigh triúr, as Scoil Naomh Pádraig Comórtas Rince, i Fossa, Dé Domhnaigh seo caite.

Engineering Fun and a geology tour to Crag Cave….

Pupils in First and Fifth really enjoyed and were challenged by engineering activities. First Class built the tallest buildings….in the World: The Burj Caherleaheen! Fifth class dropped eggs without cracking any shell….they used pneumatic platforms and other clever landing structures. Click ‘Read More’ to see other activities…..such as the secret chef behind the delicious soup:a hearty, healthy organic soup made with sweet potatoes, carrots, butternut squash, garlic, onions and more (another fab recipe from Ms Gemma)

Land an egg from a meter height…?

Busy engineers.

Bua tré iarracht!

First Class reached great heights….

Fifth Class exploring a Limestone Wonderland-Crag Cave.

Delicious soup.

Keep it stirred

Can’t wait…..

Celebrating the World of Books

We love books and many of the children have favourite books, with characters which draw them deep into another world. Our senior readers in Fourth and Second, paired up with juniors and infants to read to them and all of them enjoyed this ‘paired reading’ activity. It’s the perfect way for parents to end the day at home, too: Share a book together at bedtime. Click ‘Read More’. We encourage all parents to visit the library often with their young readers.

‘What’s going to happen next?’

Second Class looked at Writing Procedures

Second class made good use of The Author’s Chair in their Procedural Writing class.

These readers are ready to share books with Sen Infants.

We were over the ‘Moone’ with the effort put in to character dressing !!

Paired reading….

Dressing in Character in Fourth Class.

Reading aloud with great expression and fluency 🙂

Tracking the text carefully for a younger attentive reader.

Judy and Nancy Drew pulled these best-selling books out of Nancy’s ‘vintage’ handbag.

Senior Infants had a magical time!
