💒 Second Class celebrated their First Holy Communion 💒

Fr Piotr and Fr Dan celebrated our First Holy Communion mass. It was a truly lovely ceremony. Ms Gillian had everyone well prepared and ready for their special sacrament. The mass was enhanced by Third and Sixth Class choir, along with musicians and singers. They sang and played beautifully. The children knew all their prayers and responses. We have to thank parents for helping and participating all year in their preparation. We were very proud of them all today. Everyone headed back to the school hall which was brimming with delicious savouries and desserts. It looked (and tasted!) fantastic when we arrived. Sincere thanks to parents of First Class and the P.Assoc. Natalie Maher took family photos, giving lots of her time to each family and taking great care of every photo shoot. Eventually, everyone headed home with their respective families. We hope you all had a lovely weekend!Remember that children can wear their communion dresses and suits on Monday.

Caherleaheen Clean Up

🏆Caherleaheen are Kerry FAI Primary Schools CHAMPIONS!🏆

We are immensely proud of all our Fifth and Sixth class soccer players, subs and supporters. Our talented players won 7 games and drew 2 games, taking the Kerry 5’s Gold medals with a 4:2 Final score. They played teams from all over the county during the last two weeks, having trained with Mr Paul and Damien since January. This is a huge achievement.Today, 11 supporters cheered them, non-stop from 10am to 1.40. They really carried the team forward! Meanwhile, prayers and good wishes from everyone at school propelled them over the line. SPAR treated them to well-deserved pizzas, which were dutifully shared on their return, with all their classmates. Paul and Damien stood them chips. The cheers when they returned to school, exhausted, were deafening and heart-felt. Comhgáirdeas daoibh go léir. Imreoirí sacair iontach iad!

Waiting nervously for the first game….

They brought home their gold title….and pizza!

Thank you, SPAR!

We are bursting with pride🥇

Visitors to Caherleaheen.

Rose of Tralee, Jennifer Byrne, stole the show. What a lovely lady! She interacted so well with the infants. They believed she was a ‘real live princess’. There was lots of touching and rubbing of her ‘magic dress’ and they wanted to know was her tiara ‘real’. The arrival of the Clobber truck was a less glamorous affair, but proved to be a lot more valuable than Sheila’s tiara!Click Read More

Many hands made light work….Thank you to all of Sixth Class.

FAI schools 5-a-side soccer competition.

Wow! What a day we had at the FAI 5-a-side competition on Tuesday in the Park F.C. grounds. Caherleaheen had 2 teams taking part and for the first time ever we reached the county finals which will take place next Wednesday!! It was a superb day for all the children participating, with each team getting to play a full 5 games each! It was very blustery but that didn’t deter our budding soccer stars and both teams really did the school proud – both on and off the pitch. A huge well done to all the children, we are all looking forward to taking part in next week’s county finals.
